A bit naughty, opening a place like the Absinthbar at a time when absinth is illegal in Belgium. It’s 2004 and the owners look at this prohibition as the perfect challenge to go ahead and do it anyway. Thus, the menu contains absinth aplenty with a whole slew of special cocktails besides that, and a broad selection of spirits and beer. Absinth becomes legal again in the meantime, yet remains one of the most popular drink choices on our menu. In the Antwerp area, the Absinthbar is rather well-known for its large variety of classic and modern cocktails as well. Ever since 2012 you can also get access to The Private Bar from Sundays to Thursdays. The name says it all: hidden behind massive wooden doors and a revolving book wall, lies a gem of a bar in typical ‘speakeasy’ style. Exactly the place to make a good impression during events or receptions, tastings and workshops. Perfectly private!
The Absinthbar seats no less than 40 people. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy your drink on the terrace that has place for 45 more.
