The Appelmans story begins in 2004, in a side street near the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp. A beautiful 19th century property is transformed into a modern Belgian brasserie with a cosmopolitan cocktail bar, the Absinthbar. Brasserie Appelmans immediately hits the mark and gradually grows to be one of Antwerp’s biggest hotspots, a favourite hangout of tourists and locals alike. Companies also find their way to our brasserie for business lunches and dinners, presentations and company parties. At the base of its success lies the combination of modern brasserie cooking with a refined touch, classic cocktails and their contemporary interpretations, an authentic interior and surprising music with DJ sets on both Fridays and Saturdays.
